Is it a manual, or an automatic? This is only for your daily driver, not counting any other vehicles you own. Poll is anonymous.

Does CVT count as auto?

All cars I currently own (4) are manuals, and so is my company car.

M50D 5 Speed Manual. And since we seem to be nerding out here; M is for manual, 5 is for 5 speed and OD is for overdrive. I have a 5 speed manual overdrive transmission

Manual, but European so I don’t really count.

I wonder what “I drive an auto, deal with it” has.

Auto, because there is no point in me DDing a manual. My daily route is as follows - 5 stop signs —> 2 stop lights —> highway for 30+ minutes —> 2 stop lights —> 2 stop signs —> repeat.

Well, you have to manually put it in drive. It doesn’t automatically shift gears for you either.

Yes, obvi. (No clutch pedal.)

The GTO is my good weather DD, and it’s an auto. The Civic is my winter beater and it’s a 6-speed.

At least you’ve come to terms with it.

Manual (‘05 Focus ZX3). Bought as a cheap spare/work car, but quickly discovered that it was shockingly fun to drive. Almost two years and 27k miles later, I still find it an enjoyable machine. I’d have no problem replacing it with another one.

I wonder how many people are selecting “manual” for something with flappy paddles.
My DD has six speeds, five doors, four seats, three pedals, two rotors, and one grinning idiot.

Depends on what I decide to drive that day.

I hate to admit it but... an automatic. Not my idea though, my significant other can't drive a manual, and uses this car as well. Other wise I would only have a manual.
![]() 10/11/2015 at 20:48 |

If they’re choosing manual for flappy paddles they are simply wrong.
My DD has 4 speeds, 4 doors, 6 seats, 2 pedals, 6 cylinders, and 1 loose nut behind the wheel.

Either a 4 or 5 speed manual in the Sprite. I don’t remeber
